Russian and India Will Work at Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft

India and Russia have agreed on joint development and construction of fifth generation fighter aircraft, which first flew in January this year. It is assumed there would be two versions of this fighting machine - single and double.

"Now, agreed that joint work will be carried over the two versions of the aircraft," - said Nayak, who headed Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in April 2009.

In the first stage the parties will be engaged only in one-seat version of the aircraft, and work on a second version will be started later.

"For the Indian Air Force there will be released both versions," - said Nayak.

The head of state corporation said that the Indian Air Force has already formulated the technical requirements for its one-seat version and sent the relevant documentation to Russian colleagues.
