Renault Launched the Second Stage of Production in Moscow

One of the world's largest automakers - French Renault launched on Monday the second stage of production at the Moscow plant Avtoframos, increasing production capacity doubled - to 160 thousand cars per year. 

In the ceremony of launching new production facilities participated Renault president Carlos Ghosn.

Investment in capacity expansion of Avtoframos to 160 thousand cars per year amounted to 150 million. Initially, the construction of the factory Renault in Moscow invested 250 million dollars. 

In addition, since March 1, Renault began selling in Russia the new model Sandero, produced at Avtoframos, its production in Russia was launched in late 2009. 

OJSC Avtoframos was established on July 2, 1998  as a joint venture of Renault and the Moscow government. As a result of corporate restructuring, held on December 26, 2006, the share of Renault's capital of OAO Avtoframos is 94,1%. The Moscow City Government currently retains 5.9%. In 2005, Avtoframos run production of the model Renault Logan.
