French retailer Auchan intends to open in April the 13th in Russia hypermarket of its retail chain "Auchan City". it will be located in Moscow at the shopping center "Filion" in areas that previously belonged to the French network Carrefour.
Auchan concluded with "Extract-Fili", owning Trade Centre "Filion", the lease agreement of the former Carrefour area for a period of 34 years. Trade area of the new hypermarket will be 4,5 thousand square meters.
French trade group Auchan founded in 1961 by Gerard Myule, consists of more than 1,200 stores in 13 countries. Annual turnover in 2008 amounted to 39,5 billion Euro.
In the Russia market Auchan operates since 2002. There are 24 hypermarkets "Auchan", 12 hypermarkets "Auchan City", two stores "Auchan-Garden" and two hypermarkets "Rainbow".
