Business Visa to Russia

If you intend to conduct business negotiations in Russia you need to obtain a business visa. Please contact the Consular Office of the Russian Federation in your country of residence.

Russian Consular Offices abroad issue visas within 20 days after filing an application.

You will submit the following documents:
  • your passport (valid for at least another 6 months after the expiry date of your visa);
  • filled out visa application form
  • one 3 x 4 cm photo;
  • medical insurance policy.
Detailed information about the nearest Consular Office, the time-frame for visa processing and the list of documents required is available on the web site of the Russian Embassy  in your country.

Most important document required for a business visa is a formal invitation letter from your business partners in Russia. A Russian company can obtain such a letter in a regional office of the Federal Migration Service located in the area where the company is resident.

Application should be submitted together with the copy of the invited person’s ID documents. This means that you need to provide a copy of your ID documents to your potential partners beforehand. Migration Service needs 30 days to process the invitation letter, so it is recommended to plan a business visit in advance.
