Metro Cash & Carry Opening in Ekaterinburg Russia

By the end of 2010 a third trading facility of the multinational small wholesale operator METRO Cash & Carry will  be opened in Ekaterinburg Russia.  The area of the site will amount to 12 thousand square metres. The construction will  be started in April.

At the moment METRO Cash & Carry is working with forty food producers in the Sverdlovsk Oblast. Local manufacturers' products amount to 15% of the turnover of the two Ekaterinburg METRO shops.

Ekaterinburg is one of the most attractive Russian megapolises for the development of trade. The 2009 results show that trade turnover in the city grew by 4% and reached 380 billion roubles. Wholesale trade has dropped by about 5% last year.
