Compulsory Sertification Abolished in Russia

Compulsory certification of cosmetics, of most food, clothing and footwear, which operated in the country for almost 20 years was abolished from today in Russia.
Now, it wiil be enough for producers to sign a declaration of conformity of their products to the National Standard of quality. The share of production to be certified will drop from 78 to 54 per cent.

Mitigation of the requirements should reduce the administrative burden on business and save it up to 700 million rubles. However, experts have feared that now the market will increase the proportion of poor-quality perfumes and food products.
