Governor of Samara Region Vladimir Artyakov proposed to restrict entry of foreign capital in the production of automotive components in Russia so that foreign producers could only to participate in it through a joint venture in equal shares with Russian companies.
None of the major world producers of auto components have opened its own production in Russia.
The most realistic contender for the establishment of automotive production in Russia was the Austrian-Canadian Magna - last year it claimed for the purchase of Opel in a consortium with Sberbank. But the deal never took place.
German-Japanese company Takata-Petri is now booked a platform for the creation of production in the Ulyanovsk region in Russia.
