Russia Will Issue Eurobonds for $ 5.5 Billion But In Euro
Russia in 2011 may issue Eurobonds denominated in Euro, the equivalent of $5.5 billion said Deputy Finance Minister Dmitry Pankin.
"We noted in our debt strategy that after we have established a landmark in U.S. dollars, it will be desirable also to have a similar issue in Euro," - said Dmitry Pankin in Washington where these days is a meeting of representatives of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund .
According to him, the exact volume of the issue to be determined based on the situation in the market, but more or less corresponds to released this year the U.S. dollar tranche, reports Reuters. "Less is not liquid," - said Deputy Finance Minister of the Russian Federation.
He also repeated a promise to issue Eurobonds denominated in the equivalent of 3.1 billion dollars, possibly in 2010. Accommodation, however, does not take place until at least mid-November, as the budget adjustments for the next two years will be approved only by that date, "said Dmitry Pankin.
Deputy Finance Minister also said that sometime in the future Russia could consider the possibility of issuing securities with great maturity, perhaps thirty years.
