VimpelCom Dividends and Merger with Kievstar GSM

VimpelCom does not rule out the possibility of paying dividend for the fourth quarter of 2009, the Russian telecommunication company's General Director Alexander Torbakhov claimed in Moscow today.

He noted that the matter was not yet finalized, as the company did not have its financial results for 2009. 

Torbakhov stressed that VimpelCom's dividend policy remained unchanged. "We paid interim dividend, so it is quite possible that there will be dividend payments for Q4." 

He claimed that the upcoming deal on the merger of VimpelCom and Kyivstar G.S.M. would not result in any changes.

      If the decision on dividend payment is passed, the company will pay to VimpelCom Ltd., the latter will pay dividents to VimpelCom's shareholders, Altimo and Telenor.
