Gazprom and Japan Cooperation

Gazprom's Chairman of the Executive Committee Alexei Miller and Japanese Ambassador to Russia Masaharu Kono held a business meeting in Moscow today and discussed the future of Russian-Japanese cooperation as part of the Eastern gas program.

The parties indicated significant progress in the joint work of Gazprom, Japan's Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE), and Japanese companies cooperating in creation of facilities for liquefied and compressed gas production , cooperation in construction of gas processing and petrochemical production plants in eastern Russia.

      Participants discussed construction of the Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas transporting system and its role in increasing Russian natural gas exports.
